Readers Feedback
I am so very blessed to have had the opportunity and privilege to read Vincent Stigliano’s latest book, Christians Raising Christians. Immediately upon finishing his book, having thoroughly enjoyed reading it, I commented to Vince that I wished this book was available to Lisa and I before we embarked on having our own family. It would have empowered us with appropriate truth, wisdom, and a better and proper perspective, that I feel we lacked in those younger years. Not only are the pages of this book filled with the wisdom of the Lord, but there are many practical and implementable principles that every parent needs to hear and attempt to apply to their lives, homes, parenting practices and principles, and to the lives of each of their children. I also greatly appreciated the manner in which Vince collaborated and expressed a plethora of basic, yet profound, philosophies, psychology, and a comprehensive human psychoanalysis, by using individuals like Freud, Erikson, Spock, and others, gleaning certain truths about the human (fallen) condition and nature, yet maintaining a tight focus on God’s Word and eternal truth, thus provided practical, yet timeless, principle-derived-solutions to each and every possible parenting predicament, and the plethora of common struggle that might arise as we venture into the experience of parenting.
Without hesitation I highly recommend this book and commend Vince for taking the time to compile and write this good work. I praise the Lord for men like Vince, who refuse to be merely exist, but press forward, in overcoming strength, as an example to us all. May your journey in parenting be empowered and blessed as you read.
As a new parent, you pray God will guide you as you raise your child in the training and instruction of the Lord, as stated in Ephesians 6:4. However, we can all use a little help from someone who has not only “been there”, but from a qualified counselor who is a Christian. The author is both. He openly shares his licensed training and anecdotes from his own family. Partnering with his wife in the joys and frustrations of parenting, they’ve successfully raised two children and have a positive influence in the lives of their grandchildren.
The author quotes professionals and imparts practical helps giving readers important insight and a boost of confidence as they lead their own families into the ever-changing world.
You don’t have to be a Christian to appreciate this book’s power.
Despite its title – which specifies to whom this collection of behavioral insights and nurturing techniques is targeted – anyone rising to the challenge of becoming a parent or guardian will absolutely become more effective at shaping an impressionable child into a responsible adult by embracing the ideas and applying the lessons of this intuitive child-rearing guide.
Clearly, the book’s precepts and guidance are faith-based and grounded in biblical teachings. But the fundamental concepts are agnostic, compelling and proven in practice. For believers, there are ample scriptural references that buttress key principles and practices as reflections of God’s love and grace. For non-believers, there is a wealth of data-driven findings, the results of extensive scientific research as well as the pioneering theories of eminent psychologists.
However readers approach the foundational elements of child development, self-esteem, moral cognition and relationship-building, they will discover truths and tactics that will serve them well as stewards of future generations that will make us all proud
